Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the larva feeding on sallow (Salix spp.), birch (Betula spp.) and hazel (Corylus avellana). In Dorset, the moth is very local and essentially a denizen of deciduous woodland, particularly old oak and birch woods. It is seldom encountered outside this habitat.
