DORSET MOTHS (VC9) ANNUAL REPORT 2023

Nine new species for the vice-county were among the highlights of another exciting mothing year for Dorset. Find out about them, and more, in the Dorset Moths Annual Report 2023.

Containing a comprehensive listing of all species recorded in the vice-county during the year, and prepared in association with the Dorset Enviromental Records Centre (DERC), the Annual Report summarises over 60,000 records submitted by 642 individual recorders, covering 1,332 different taxa. We pay tribute to the exceptional efforts of local and visiting moth recorders.

In addition, an article by Durwyn Liley and Mark Parsons describes the unexpected rediscovery of the elusive Speckled Footman on the Dorset heaths.

The Dorset Moths Annual Report 2023 is available for free download here (1.27Mb).
