DORSET MOTHS (VC9) ANNUAL REPORT 2021

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Dorset Moths (VC9) Annual Report for 2021. For the first time, the report contains comprehensive coverage of all moth species recorded in the county during the year.

Almost 75,000 moth records were received, covering 1,351 taxa (including species aggregates), submitted by 528 recorders - who are listed in the report. Several new species for the county were recorded, as well as one new British species - the Cork Oak Nycteoline.

As well as a full species listing, the Annual Report contains articles describing the year's moth highlights, a report on migrant species and a statistical summary of the year's records - including the ever-popular annual Dorset Top Twenty. Additional features cover the use of moth lures and an exploration of the extraordinary sequence of Clifden Non-Pareil records from Puddletown.

The 2021 Annual Report (2.06 Mb) is available for free download here.
