Phil Sterling, 2008: This species is likely to be widespread in England. The larva mines the leaf of oak (Quercus spp.). The paucity of records in Dorset reflects difficulties in identifying this species; see S. atricapitella (83)

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
