Phil Sterling, 2008: A widespread species throughout much of the British Isles, scarcer in Scotland. The larva mines the leaf of beech (Fagus sylvatica). This is a common species usually found wherever beech grows, including in urban hedges. Before 1970 within Dorset there are 5 records (per WPC ms.). Since 1970 there have been 19 records from various parts of the county. (l. vii-xi).
