Phil Sterling, 2008: A species of relatively dry habitats such as downland, but also found in meadows; imagines feed on pollen of herbaceous and woody plants. Widespread in the British Isles. Before 1970 within Dorset, there are 9 records and the moth appeared to be widespread (per WPC ms.); over 30 post 1970 records continue to reflect this distribution and the moth can be found very commonly in some places.
