Bucculatrix maritima

Stainton, 1851267 / 14.003

Phil Sterling (2008): A coastal saltmarsh species in England and Wales, usually found commonly where the foodplant occurs. The adult is sometimes seen flying in the evening over the larval foodplant, or may be found at light. The larva often mines throughout this stage, but may feed externally also, on the leaves of sea-aster (Aster tripolium). Whilst a saltmarsh species in Dorset, there is also a population in the old limestone quarries and cliffs at Winspit.

Mine: Either the leaf or a good photograph required
