Tinea semifulvella

Phil Sterling (2008): A widespread species throughout the British Isles. The adult of this large species with orange-brown colouration flies at night and is attracted to light. The larva normally feeds on birds’ nests in open situations, and may be common within them. Before 1970 within Dorset, there are 10 records spread across the county; since 1970 there have been 31 records, similarly spread out across Dorset, with low numbers being found regularly at MV light.
