Peter Davey / Phil Sterling, 2020: Formerly restricted to the coastal counties of England, this species has subsequently spread northwards across much of the country, the larva feeding mainly on Ploughman’s spikenard Inula conyzae, although recently also reared from common fleabane Pulicaria dysenterica. In Dorset, the moth is widespread on disturbed alkaline soils favoured by its foodplant.
