Merrifieldia baliodactylus

(Zeller, 1841)1512 / 45.034

Peter Davey / Phil Sterling, 2020: Restricted to England, and more often met with across southern counties, the larva feeds on wild marjoram Origanum vulgare. In Dorset, the moth occurs within unimproved tall-sward grassland and around scrub on alkaline soils where wild marjoram is able to flourish, mainly in the north-east of the county, but also within the quarried landscapes on the Isle of Portland.
