Capperia britanniodactylus

(Gregson, 1869)1494 / 45.028
=Capperia britanniodactyla

Peter Davey / Phil Sterling, 2020: A local species occurring widely across Britain, the larva feeding on wood sage (Teucrium scorodonia). In Dorset, this moth is restricted to heathland - its distribution coinciding with wood sage growing among bracken (Pteridium), and to the coast, where wood sage grows in xerothermic situations favoured by the moth. The species has not been observed away from these two distinct biotypes.
