(Hübner, 1813)1483 / 62.058

Davey, P., 2009: A local species in England, the larva feeding in the seedheads of spear thistle (Cirsium vulgare). In Dorset, the moth colonises thistle-rich unimproved grassland and open woodland on chalky soils where it is locally frequent; however, it is largely absent from the sandy soils across the Poole Basin; dispersed singletons appear occasionally elsewhere.
