Davey, P., 2009: A rare species, found very locally in dune habitat along the coasts of East Anglia and east Kent, the moss-feeding larva constructs a subterranean tube of silk in the sand from which they feed. There is one record from Dorset: Swanage, at MV light on 17 July 2003 (Reverend E Pratt), the same date that yielded the first Dorset record of Pyralis lienigialis1416.
