Davey, P., 2009: A relatively recent colonist in Britain, found on waste ground along the banks of the Thames estuary, the larva feeding on mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris). Abroad, the moth is polyphagous and a pest species of maize (Zea mays); it has also been found on hop (Humulus lupulus), beet (Beta vulgaris), witch-grass (Panicum capillare) and common millet (Panicum miliaceum). The species has been introduced to America.
