Davey, P., 2009: An abundant species wherever grass grows in Britain, the larva feeding at the base of the culms of grasses (Poaceae). In Dorset, the moth is frequent in most situations and rises to abundant on unimproved grassland, irrespective of soil type. The moth has a prolonged flight period between late May and late August.
