Davey, P., 2009: A species found across much of Britain, the larva feeding on the inner parts of tufted hair-grass (Deschampsia cespitosa). In Dorset, the moth is abundant in old grassland on ill-drained clay soil in the Blackmoor Vale. It is frequent in marsh and in open woodland on clay soils, and on dry unimproved grassland. There are very few records from heathland blocks within the Poole Basin
