Davey, P., 2009: A local species in England, Wales and parts of Scotland, the larva feeding on poplar (Populus spp.). In Dorset, the moth is local and at low density as poplar is a rarely planted tree in the county. It is frequent on the Moors River at Hurn where there is a grove of mature black poplar (Populus nigra) trees; half of the county tally has been recorded from this single site.
