Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the polyphagous larva feeding on various herbaceous plants and deciduous trees. In Dorset, the moth is local and at low density, being confined to scrub and bramble-rich grassland localities on chalky soils both inland and on the coast, and to other localities close to chalk-sourced rivers, such as the River Stour and the Moors River.
