Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in southern Britain, more local further north, the larva feeding on oak (Quercus spp.) and on hawthorn (Crataegus spp.). In Dorset, the moth occupies the same oak-rich habitats as the Merveille du Jour2247 and is as numerous. It also colonises districts where reasonable quantities of mature hawthorn grow.
