Davey, P., 2009: A species occurring throughout Britain, the larva feeding on scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and maritime pine (Pinus pinaster). In Dorset, the moth is frequent where scots pine has been block-planted, particularly on sandy soil, and to a lesser extent on chalky soil where the forestry commission and private estates harvest the conifer trees commercially.
