Davey, P., 2009: A local species in Britain that is more frequently encountered in northern districts, the larva feeding on various herbaceous plants and grasses, and on the young leaves of trees in spring. In Dorset, the moth ranges from frequent on sandy soils to local in unimproved calcareous grassland habitat along the Purbeck Ridge and along the Purbeck coast. Wanderers are occasionally trapped elsewhere across the county, but otherwise it is seldom seen.
