Davey, P., 2009: A local single-brooded species restricted to southern Britain, the larva feeding on birch (Betulae spp.) and alder (Alnus glutinosa). In Dorset, colonies of the moth have been found in four sites to date: Chedington Woods, Hooke Park, Melbury Park and Yellowham Wood.
