Davey, P., 2009: A local species restricted to the south of Britain, the larva feeding on bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), bramble (Rubus fruticosus), and dog rose (Rosa canina). In Dorset, the moth is local and at low density. Its primary but restricted habitat is bilberry growing in old woods and on dry ridges on acid soils around the periphery of the Poole Basin; its secondary habitat is scrub containing dog rose or bramble across the chalk belt in the north-east of the county.
