Davey, P., 2009: This species was unknown until larvae were discovered in Surrey in 1971. It is now known to be widespread across southern Britain but more local further north, the larva rapidly feeding up on the flowers of blackthorn (Prunus spinosa). In Dorset, the moth is likely to be under-recorded.
