Davey, P., 2009: A species found throughout England and Wales, but local in Scotland, the larva feeding on hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), blackthorn (Prunus spp.) and dogwood (Cornus sanguinea). In Dorset, the moth is moderately common on chalky soil, but it is also frequent in the blackthorn thickets at West Bexington and at Alner's Gorse, and amongst mature hawthorn at Merley and at Gaunts Common.
