Davey, P., 2009: A very rare immigrant species seen twice in Britain during the 1960s, the polyphagous larva favouring members of the mallow (Malvaceae) family. Abroad, this species is found in the tropics and sub-tropics, and closer to home in the Mediterranean region. It is a serious pest of cotton (Gossypium sp.), a genus within the mallow family.
