Davey, P., 2009: A species found throughout southern Britain, more local further north, the larva feeding nocturnally on various herbaceous plants. In Dorset, the moth is ubiquitous and common with a marked preference for unimproved grassland where it is often abundant especially on chalky soils, both inland and on the coast. In addition to the mid-summer peak, a bivoltine cycle is suspected with peaks in early June and mid-September.
