Davey, P., 2009: A lowland species in Britain, the larva feeding on the lower stems and roots of various grasses. In Dorset, the moth is common on dry unimproved grassland, and at low density to frequent elsewhere. It is usually on the wing between mid-June and mid-July, but a partial second brood occurs from mid-August in warmer than average summers such as 1975, 1995, 1996 and 2003.
