Davey, P., 2009: A species restricted to south-east England becoming rarer further north, the larva feeding on the buds, flowers and leaves of beech (Fagus spp.) and maple (Acer spp.). In Dorset, the moth is frequent in woods on chalky soils containing beech and field maple (Acer campestris) and recorded occasionally elsewhere where isolated mature beech and field maple grow. Larvae have been found on field maple in Chase Woods.
