Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, but scarce in central and eastern England, the larva feeding on various grasses and herbaceous plants. In Dorset, the moth is widespread and frequent rising to abundant locally on unimproved grassland on chalky soils and on heathland where heather (Calluna vulgaris) and heath (Erica spp.) are likely foodplants.
