Davey, P., 2009: A species found mainly in south-east Britain, but local elsewhere, the larva feeding on the buds and flowers of compositae species including ox-tongues (Picris spp.), hawkweeds (Hieracium spp.) and hawk's-beards (Crepis spp.). In Dorset, the moth is most often seen on dry grassland on both chalky and sandy soils; in such places it is local and at low density.
