Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the larva feeding on various herbaceous plants and grasses. In Dorset, the moth is ubiquitous and common, rising to abundant on unimproved grassland. The national norm is for a single brood in August and September, but many early summer records from a range of localities and recorders across the county suggest a partial bivoltine tendency in recent years.
