Davey, P., 2009: A local species in Briatain but absent from northern Scotland, the larva feeding on beech (Fagus spp.), blackthorn (Prunus spp.), oak (Quercus spp.), birch (Betula spp.), hawthorn (Crateagus spp.) and a variety of other deciduous tree and shrub species. In Dorset, the moth is most often found in deciduous woods, preferring woodland containing beech; elsewhere the moth is rarely encountered.
