Davey, P., 2009: A common species in Britain, the larva feeding on bracken (Pteridium aquilinium). In Dorset, the moth is common to abundant wherever bracken is dominant in woods, hedgebanks and on dry heathland, also on leached soils overlying chalk. The species tends to remain within the confines of its habitat and wanderers are rarely encountered well away from bracken communities.
